How we calculate it
Dogs and cats
We use the chart of the American Veterinary Medical Association: the first year counts 15 human years, the second 9, then every year counts 4 to 7 depending on the dog's size (4 for cats).
The other pets
For rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets, parrots and horses we compare two moments of life: when they become adults (like a 16 year old) and their average life expectancy (like an 80 year old).
